Re: Sky - Pairing a new box with an existing viewing card

Thanks for the input. As I mentioned, I'm using the card from my Sky+ box with the normal box without a problem except for the movie channels. For some reason, the sports channels aren't a problem.

My old box is a Thompson 160Gb. I tried replacing the hard drive, but the box wouldn't get out of standby mode once I did that, so I've given up on the repair route. If anyone wants to buy a "slightly used" Sky+ box cheap, let me know...

I've been told that they don't make 160Gb boxes any longer, except for the HD box. Does anyone have the HD box and know if you need an HD subscription for it to work?
