Re: Sky - Pairing a new box with an existing viewing card

their card works in your box because you did not try premium channels. Card serial number is paired to box serial number; nothing at all to do with addresses.

For Sky Sports and Sky Movies, it would likely give an error message.

Activated FTV cards will work in ANY box.

The pairing to a new box is simply a telephone call away. With number supressed or UK VoIP connection NO PHONE CONNECTION IS NECESSARY.

Do also note: don't volunteer information to the Sky operator. You want every line from your System Information screen (Services - 4 and you'll see it).

Do also consider ensuring you can get FTA channels like Sky News and.....most importantly....ensure your box software is up-to-date.

This is done by removing the power, holding down BACKUP on the box, connecting power (still with the button pressed) and finally release the button when the pretty lights come on. Make a cup of tea now...
