I called Avanex a month before my trip and they said they'd send papers for me to sign go get the additional needed coverage, which they never did. This is the second time they say they'll send stuff and never do.

As I just didn't have the time to fiddle with that and as I was leaving in 2 days, I just went with a site I've used in the past when I was traveling around the globe, which is:

They offer travel insurance (medical only if you so wish), and you can do various selections etc etc. It's very easy to use, and seems to work well. I remember researching it back when I first bought insurance and people were recommending that site.

That's what I went with, I still need to call Avanex yet again and get it done, but it's getting a bit frustrating
