Thanks guys i have removed the light bulb after having strong words with my husband he doesn`t think it matters what kind of light bulb you put in, i told him what some of you said and he doesn`t believe me.

P.S When i unscrewed the light bulb 2 screws fell on my head not sure what happened does anyone know please, thanks.
The reason that the buls have reflectors is because they are enclosed. The reflector helps to direct the heat away from the fitting as well as directing the light.

It would be best to get the electrician who fitted the light to come back and check where the screws have come from. They could be the screws that are supposed to hold it to the ceiling. You don't want it falling down

I am not going to get drawn into any comments about a screw loose.
