More parking woes

I just got a ticket for (as far as I can translate) 'renewed parking in a Blue Zone in the same street' .

However, what I actually did was originally park in the metered white spaces and then, before the time expired, move it on to a blue zone (you can park there for a period of up to two hours with one of those little time dials).

Can they do that? I know that you can't park twice in a blue zone or feed the meter but the white and blue zones are two seperate sets of parking zones, surely, even if they are on the same street?

EDit: This is in Zuerich, FYI
