Fall weather...

Well, it is cool enough here in Basel tonight that some of my neighbors must have fireplaces / wood burning stoves lit, it smells like autumn.

Something about Fall that makes me feel all giddy and full of anticipation. I've been trying to figure out why.

Is it because that's the season of my birth? Is it some vestigial remnant of the excitement of starting a new school year?

I don't really know why it is but it always is.

And, it always makes me think of (American) football games, getting suited up in a marching band uniform and sitting shivering with about 100 of my closest buddies while we try to keep warm and play an instrument at the same time.

Of course, one of the first things for the band to do at a football game is to enter the stadium... always a bit of a nervous and exciting moment. Hoping our team will win, hoping the guy in front of me doesn't trip and trip me in return , hoping I remember the steps for the show and hoping I don't drop my flute.

Anyhow... for those with similar memories, a few clips to enjoy.
