Re: ADSL Options ??

View Post
I was given some options from various ADSL providers.

The list goes this way.

1. Sunrise ADSL 3500 offer (49 CHF / month)
sunrise ADSL - Angebote und Preise
(I don't know if there are any separate costs for swisscom line)
One time Fee : Keine einmaligen Kosten

2. Private provider (
ADSL 3500 (49 CHF / month)

One time fee : 149 CHF
Set-up Fee : 190 CHF

3. Swisscom
ADSL 3500 9 CHF / month)

Swisscom Online-Shop

Why do I see lot of fee variations ?? Am I getting wrong somewhere ??

Someone already having/availing one of these ADSL connection could help !

I confirm what DaveA said.

With Swisscom it's 49CHF/month for 3500. The 9 CHF/month I think it's the one with no flat rate, you would pay something per every minute you are connected.

I personally chose Swisscom, because any other provider you take (Sunrise, Tele2, etc) would require the Swisscom fix telephone line anyway. I was told that in Switzerland the national company Swisscom still keeps the monopoly of the last kilometer (up to your home) of the phone wiring. The other providers then would force you to opt for the preselection (for example if you buy Tele2 Adsl then you will pay the Swisscom phone line every month but you would be allowed to make phone calls only through Tele2).

Then one more hint, if you go for Swisscom: I bought my "Blu Win Starter Kit" at the post office (in Baden, in my case) and I got the Wireless Modem/Router gratis with the subscription. If I had gone to a Swisscom shop, the only modem for free would have been the USB type.

All the best.
