minimum ceiling height for a rental apartment

Hello,

Another of my obscure rental apartment questions!

I am thinking of buying an apartment to live in initially, but then want to be free to rent it out. The apartment in question is a conversion of an old Vaudoise farm house, and - being an old farm building - has quite low ceiling height of about 1.9 metres in most rooms and a maximum in the main living room of 2.3 metres.

I've read that to count as 'rentable space' the ceiling height needs to be at least 2.4 metres. Does this mean I can't rent out my apartment or some special provision is needed, or does this only apply to new build apartments?

Please help me resolve my ceiling height dilemna!

Thanks
