I'm not certain what the protocol is here, but certainly in the UK schools my son attended the requirement was to wait at least 24 hours after the last vomiting bout, ie, 24 clear hours before returning. I assume that also presupposes they're eating again fairly normal, so the poor kid has enough energy to get through the day.

But you really can't keep them off for a week for a tummy bug. Anything over a week's absence here requires a doctor's note, and I can't imagine you'd get any doctor to sign that off.

Edit: forgot to add, hope Nil's daughter feels better soon. Vomiting bugs with toddlers are just awful.
