Of course, it's a complete b*gger when the disease is infectious but doesn't show symptoms for a couple of days afterwards.

If a child is sick, they shouldn't be at playgroup/school etc. If they're infections, they shouldn't be at playgroup etc. To address this issue, my wife has, selflessly, for the last 18 years, foregone a career, and as a family we've foregone the extra income, so that we don't infect other people's kids in this way.

As a freelancer, I've a similar issue with permies who drag themselves in when they're ill, infecting me, who doesn't get sick pay...
