With all the people having operations, we forget that some people that are born both sexes - with boy bits and girl bits. Sometimes (usually) the doctors and parents then choose a sex for the child. This is not always a good thing.

But the concept of being neither male nor female is not new. They are called hermaphrodite and have been around as long as snails have.
