Re: Pictures of North Korea

I used to work for a technology company back in 1988 - 1993. One of our clients was the State telephone company of North Korea and we were delivering the electronic components for equipping a new telephone exchange in Pyongyang.

Once everything was sort of in place (via trans-Siberian railway in old containers in the middle of winter) our technicians went to Pyongyang about 3 - 4 times to supervise installation. They came back with glowing reports about how friendly and kind everyone was, the food was great, the women were pretty etc. etc. even though they saw that the people were desperately poor and they themselves couldn't move an inch without a "guide". Very ambivalent stories Don't know what it's like now, but hardly very much better
