I guess it's a question of how much you use your phone. Swisscom's cheapest iPhone tariff is 25 Fr. a month. Orange's cheapest iPhone tariff is 49 Fr. per month. Yes, I get 1gb of data with that (which I can't use, because there's absolutely no 3G coverage anywhere here with Orange) - but my wife, who's on Swisscom, never uses more than 100mb per month. So why pay more for it? Calls cost a crapload more on Orange. Swisscom charges you somewhere between 50 and 70 Rp per HOUR. Orange charges the same per minute. Yes, I get to call 3 numbers for free on Orange, but the other 15 or so I call regularly cost massively more as on Swisscom for my typical calls of 5-10 minutes.

We've stopped using SMS a long time ago as everyone I know either has an iPhone or a Blackberry - push e-mail is included in the monthly data allowance.

So, for some Orange is cheaper, for others it's Swisscom. On average, they cost about the same with Orange having a crappy network.
Exactly, so you can't make a blanket statement. For my uses its miles cheaper than Swisscom was.
