Re: Timeframe to start work after applying for Work Permit

Hi,
I had asked an official in the KriesBuro regarding the chances of me (non-EU on dependent L Permit) getting a Work Permit if I get a job. He had told me that it usually takes about 2 weeks to start work after I apply considering I have submitted the necessary documents like job contract, etc.
Can someone who has been through the same situation let me know how much timeframe should I be looking to start on work once I get a job and apply for permit?

Many thanks.
The fact you are in-country does save quite a bit of time but 2 weeks may be a little ambitious with the current workload of the authorities. I'd allow 4 weeks minimum. Shouldn't be a problem to a potential employer - they are used to waiting 3 months.
