I am going for the weekend to Italy by train, and there is a possibility for me to buy a nice bike there.

If I come by train with the bike on the bikes compartment ( I am not sure it there is such a thing on the Cisalpino though ), would I get taxed or have to declare the bike ?

please halp !
I gather it is a second hand bike?
I don't know where you are coming from in Italy and your destination to in Switzerland get off the train in Como and ride it through the border and get back on in Chiasso.

If you really had a problem there is a house on the border near Chiasso.
The lounge is in Italy and the kitchen in Switzerland.
The family charge 1% "family tax" to bring stuff through their house. The house must be priceless.
