I am going for the weekend to Italy by train, and there is a possibility for me to buy a nice bike there.

If I come by train with the bike on the bikes compartment ( I am not sure it there is such a thing on the Cisalpino though ), would I get taxed or have to declare the bike ?

please halp !
A) Buy the "Velo-Vignette" here in Switzerland BEFORE departing, and then place it onto your new bike
B) take some nice labels (airline, hotel, holiday resort) with you and decorate the new bike
C) most important, UNPACK the new bike and use if for a few kilometers in Italy.

By these steps it becomes "used personal belonging" and nobody can demand proof that you bought it in Switzerland.
