Please, please please put the "User CP" option back where it was at the top left of the forum. I thought it was a minor thing not worth mentioning before, but it's now proving a real pain as on mobiles you have to scroll up to the top middle to click the "My Settings" bit, and it just isn't placed in a user-friendly, convenient position now. I'm not saying to not keep the option at the top middle, just re-add the old one in addition if possible please.

Gave it a try on both my iPhone and my iPad and have no problem to use the " My Settings" shortcut.

Android, 800*480 screen resolution. I don't have problems clicking it, what im saying is that whereas before I never had to scroll to use it, I now have to scroll sideways a bit. The positioning is now imo a lot less convenient than where it was before for mobile and desktop.

We've got to get our priorities right. I'm beefing about the Search which searched but didn't find, someone else shouted out that one of the menus is now in the wrong place, I moan that the links are no longer underlined so I don't see them, another complains that links didn't link, I think Silent Bob is too busy sorting out things to reply to us. Shh - don't disturb the workers. It is, after all, a holiday today! |

Cmon RD - don't be so harsh. It's already better than yesterday. Now the word jumps from the 'visible' search field to the inside search field all by itself. Not that it actually looks for anything when it gets there, and if by mistake, a EF link comes up, when you click on it it goes back to New Posts - but not to worry. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I just think the standard vbulletin ones are tried and tested, work flawlessly (hence why most forums don't mess with them), and are probably best left alone. The new way requires more clicks to get what you want (you can't even do an advanced search until you've done a basic search, the option simply doesn't appear otherwise), and I always think that increasing user inconvenience in essential functions is never a good thing.
Anyway Longbyt im not trying to give him a hard time, I think it's good he's looking to improve things overall, i'm just providing opinions and feedback. Im sure he's a big enough boy to read it without taking offence, or needing people to defend him.

You should know me better RD. I have to write something to amuse myelf between banning the naughty boys and moving Threads.
I wasn't happy with the 'old' search though and I now like the Google search beside it instead of having to wander up my screen first. I often search for three words linked by + and vBulletin never did that nicely for me. Basically I'd like a mixture of the two, Advanced Search and the possibility of looking for threads or posts which must have BOTH words in, not one or the other. Sometimes I know which Forum I've seen something in, or who wrote in it, but I need two or three words to search together to prevent me from getting about 50 hits.

With all the subtle, unannounced changes that keep occurring, it will soon be back to how it was.

Well, they are under "my settings". Just click on my settings & they show up on that page. Now that I found them & I don't have to start with the strange index page, I'm a happy girl.

Another vote for underlined links - not just on mouse-over. This is so intuitive in posts. Now if anchor text is used, links are too easy to miss. See what I mean??

It also makes it easy for spammers to hide links in posts
tip - click on the word "hide"
So yes I'm all for having underlined links again.

I'm a woman, I'm allowed. No longer a happy girl!
Why can't I close up the window while making the justify to the window size? I like to read in small windows not have to scroll across or keep the window large... |
