Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

As I mentioned earlier I didn't know Begga personally but from what I have read over these many pages about her mischievous personality I am sure she will be giggling from wherever she is at LiB trying to keep everyone's candles lit and fending off any officious police.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 6th, I intend to go to the accident site for a PERIOD OF REMEMBERING BEGGA.

I shall be at All Bar One in Basel, Steinenvorstadt 37, at 8pm and will wait until 8.30pm. The plan is to take the No. 3 tram out to the Burgfelder / Luzerner ring stop and then to walk the short distance over to Hegenheimerstrasse /Wasgenring.

Anyone that wants to join is more than welcome. 8pm should be late enough for anyone coming from other cities, whilst giving enough time to return.

I shall have an orange scarf on to be easily recognised.

resident
Hi resident, I think the plan is for a group of people to meet a bit earlier - I am not 100% sure of the details but maybe you could talk to LIB or Angela-74 so that you could meet up with them?

For those of us who can't make it due to the fact that we live on the wrong continent.

Could someone post photos?

Thanks ever so much.

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

A condolence book has also been dropped off at my market stall at the Viadukt and that will be at the HB market today then at the Viadukt again Thursday and Friday and on Saturday at the Ploughmans lunch in Rapperswil where it will sent on to Beggas family.

I've not seen it yet but I've been told that it's thick enough that photos can also be put in this.

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

I wanted to just let everyone know that the Beggas family will be coming into Basel this week. In that light, I just want to remind everyone that she will be around town and the memorial site. I just ask that we all be respectful of this when we visit the site. Thank you.

I went to the site this morning.... Rob1, Thank you so much for the picture. It is very apppropriate... and captures the essence of Begga.

I must say it is very sobering... As I was standing there.... the street cleaners came by.... I was having some private time with her.... and they joined me.... even for a moment... those that don`t know her... take the time ....

A collective group candle is a neat idea. However, I feel that an individual candle(for each member) will underline the tremendous support Begga had and still has from this great community and therefore, as I mentioned before, I'll provide a candle for everyone who wishes do have one lit. I believe it will also be comforting to the family, knowing that she was loved and cared for to this extent.
Unfortunately I cannot make it on friday although I would if I could.

Lib please could you light x2 candles, one for me and one for Cwtchycoo my fiancee.

Many Thanks

Cat
