Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

Hi peeps, me agen. I┤ll try to translate the article for you as best as I can.
My apologies for my spelling and grammar beforhand.

title: Teckla was her baby:Berg■ˇras family who died in a car agsident in Swiss have started collection to get the dog home.

A collection is started to get the dog Teckla to Iceland. but the dog was ownd by Berg■ˇra Bachmann who died in a car agsident in Swiss earlyer this month. friends and famely say that the dog was like her child.

" She was childless but this dog was her baby. we know that Teckla did mean much to her and her dog was invovled in her life. "

" It costs more then 300 000 isk to get the dog home but her family thought it was much simpler to get Teckla home, they thought that they could just go and get her. "

Says Freyja wich says that its also difficult for the family to handle all the papperwork that is incloudet to the transport on top of everything else.

Berg■ˇras Brother, Ingi Steinn Bachmann says the family is very cratefull in this hard times and things are going much better then they hoped for:
" The collection is going alright and we think we can make the cost. its a great suport and its priceless to see what people are ready to do for us.
We weren┤t thinking we would get any suport and I was very touched when I saw all the people that was ready to help ( I was thinking about all the people in Swiss aswell btw.)"
Says Ingi wich says this is going much better then they hoped, but they have no experience at inpording a dog.

"It matters to us, we are getting her child home"

Teckla has been staying with friends of Berg■ˇra in Swiss and Ingi says that she is taken very well care off. He says its importand for the family to get that part of Berg■ˇra home.
They that have intres to help with the cause can but money in account that is here below

Account number: 0114-05-061056 and (something that I┤m not sure what is, somthing like personal id): 090586-2979.

and thats it
The collection is going great after this articel allthough she miss spelld Teckla (no K), and the place that she will be in Isolation have said that they will drop the price for us.

If you wanna help with this collection I think its easyer to put money on the acount you┤ve already starded, as I can imagen putting money in an Icelandic bank account can be triky at best.

Thanks agen for all your help and support it is appreciate and it means alot to us

Love Ingi

Well, I got a translation from my other Icelandic friend, but obviously too late.

I've got Begga's mobile number stored in my contacts. I think I'll leave it there for a while at least.

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

Wow.
I've been away for a while .... and this is not the kind of news I would have expected.
I was actually thinking of Iceland - I am sort of planning a bicycle trek with some friends - and I wanted to ask infos / tips, and I was planning to ask her as well.... and instead...
Really tragic.

I remember Begga being really very angry at the bankers who ruined her beautiful country. She had a lively spark, like the many icelanders who are standing up against the dreadful effects of the Crisis.
That's the memory I'll conserve ... rest in peace, girl.
When I'll be trekking in Iceland take a moment to send me a snowflake...

Ciao

Paul

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

Thanks so much for all the terrific work. I just can't believe this is real. Nor the facts, nor the kind hands from everyone.

I let yesterday the flowers, in combination with many good thoughts and wishes into the Rhine and wish them to pass Basel and later on to the sea to Iceland.

I feel very humble, compared to others here who have a more personal point, and I hope it was the correct step to take.

I've been out of the country for 2 .5 weeks and have only just read this post. I'm in shock. I met Begga once last summer when I attended a curry night. I was struck by her openness and friendliness.

Only the good die young - Begga you're in my prayers.

I worked beside her, the last time I was visiting someone in her office I noticed she was watching the Royal Wedding on her computer, and I think her smile while watching it will be my favoured memory of her.

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

I have just got back back from holiday and I am so shocked to read this.

It's very sad news indeed and my thoughts are with all her family and friends at this sad time.

I was lucky enough to meet Begga on the recent day in Alsace and I will treasure the memories of that day. I can still hear her laughter as we drove rather bumpily through a field whilst following the satnav's rather dubious directions.

Rest in peace Begga.
