Been using it for ages ...ahem ... elsewhere. You can set levels. So 3 infraction points = 1 day ban. You can set an expiry on it as well. If you set it to never, and give someone 3 points, they'll be banned for a day. But the next infraction - they'll be banned for the next level up, e.g. 3 days.

In my experience, it doesn't really work. Especially on people who've been members for a while.
Waited for your post since Ace1 has started the thread....

Or, at least, can mods give Infraction points to other mods.
Especially where mods actively contribute to further derail threads, post off topic automatic consciousness streams or appear to trail certain users for the sole purpose of antagonising them. In other words - when mods act in a way that calls into question their suitability and motivation for the role of a mod.

Also Green blobs from 6 other members (thank you), and other encouraging PMs in the sense of “ignore the trolls and please keep posting”. These were all from long-standing, respected EF members.

I think those that like to frame the term “passive aggressive” for their own means, should really be aware of the differentiation between that and neutrally formed, well thought-through and balanced comments.

Should I send you a screen shot? I keep my post box completely clean, and only keep those that I haven’t yet replied to. You can read my Private messages (PMs)? This is a serious infringement of my privacy.

How can you be here since 2015 and still be confused about the difference between a PM, a thanks/groan and a reputation point?

I formally request that you delete my profile and all my posts on EF immediately, as was the recent case of East Enders.
Just message Editor Bob and request an account deletion. Given your escalating levels of agitation, it's probably going to be good for your stress levels and well being.

It seems to me most people here don't know they can use their ignore list, otherwise they wouldn't go out of their way to ostracise someone.

And vice versa. They can't add us to their ignore list either.

I guess it's only fair.

I doubt you can add Ace to that list....as a mod, unless something has changed, you can‘t ignore mods. But if I am wrong, do let me know.

How do you determine that an EF member is respected? I suspect that‘s highly subjective.
It is possible and that switch was flicked a while ago - then flicked back again as, I assume, some Mods didn't like being on ignore.

Thankfully, scrolling past the tedium and only interacting on the rare occasions when one sees sense in the post or when the nonsense is simply too great to leave uncommented works fairly well where the ignore function doesn't.

You can ignore everyone, including mods, simply by not reading PMs.

Even better, switch off PMs, and then you know what you've got is a from a mod, so you can doubly ignore it.

Looking in the Admin Control Panel I can't even see where such an option might be, it's certainly not a setting that mods can change, and it has never been active since I've been a mod, so if it ever was it must have been _way_ before your time, although I may misremember whether you had a previous life under a different name.
