Lyoness cash back card system

Have a friend of mine raving about his connections with Austrian company Lyoness that issues cash back cards and also business "buy ins" for entrepreneurs with established businesses or a network of contacts in sales. They've also set up a Swiss office in the last 18 months.

The Swiss link: http://www.lyoness.net/ch/

And the UK one: http://www.lyoness.net/gb/

Looks like a pyramid or tiered system, meaning the sooner you get in, the more you stand to achieve with regards to income generated.

A recent KTipp article here in Switzerland maligned the system and warned potential investors away, yet the Austrian financial press has been far more positive.

Anyone in the EF world have any experience of Lyoness?

Re: Lyoness cash back card system

From a quick look - and I mean quick. It looks effectively like a referral site.

1) You buy something for 100chf from retailer
2) Retailer will pay Lyoness 10% for referral - 10chf
3) Lyoness pays you 2-5% cashback.

Re: Lyoness cash back card system

I was given a presentation by a reseller a few month ago and it definitely felt like a pyramid scheme to me. Nothing wrong with the concept (cash back on your purchases) but the way the system works is by getting you to recruit extra members and luring you into getting extra cash / bonuses which can be converted into shop vouchers.

Re: Lyoness cash back card system

Had a look into this.
A pyramid system plus a large dose of customer tracking.
Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.
