Looking advice for renting a small restaurant! (ZH)

After long hesitation, we decided that it would be a good time to open up our own business. How my husband, French, is chef and resident in Switzerland for more than 20 years, we want to open a small restaurant.
A place that can host about 50 people, kitchenequipped ... possibly taking inventory (terase will be great but... well... :) ). I must mention that our search is not limited to a specific area, although we like to stick to the German side.
I would like to know if anybody has had such an experience and can help me with some advices?
Sites such as immoscout or homegate, currently have limited offers in this direction and therefore we search for some ideas : are there any other ways to search? Do you know someone who has such a place for rent?
I look with great interest your advice and ideas for which I thank you in advance!

An excellent day!

Not sure if this is much help but here in the french-speaking side, often the commune has a place/space that it looks for someone to run as a cafe/restraunt. It is more like an old auberge in the center of the village and the commune owns it. There may be some fees involved, but you would not pay market rental prices. Generally speaking though, they put it at your disposal to have the restaruant open for the villagers. I am guessing that similar arrangements exist in the german side but am not sure. How to go about it, most I hear is word of mouth, or by just living in the commune. Sometimes it is advertised in the local papers.

In north Bern is a restaurant that struggled and has just closed.

I think the Gemeinde are wondering what to do with it, it is probably available immediately,

Further to my earlier post, I've also heard of some organisations, http://www.gastrosuisse.ch, http://www.gastro-express.ch whereby restraunts and those in the business can find places, etc.

Thank you very much for your responses.
We already know the sites from Gastrosuisse (and the satelites). Iíve already called there for legal advices. Unfortunately, they deal only with employees and not employers or prospective employers.
We continue to look! Once gain, thank you very much for your time and your responses.

There are two maybes I know of one in Maur http://www.maur.ch/?page=33 on the main road has been vacant for a while and the owners of http://tel.search.ch/uetikon-am-see/...nenhof.en.html in Uetikon are retiting soon and I don't know if anyone has stepped up to take it on. I have been searching commercial premises and not all of them show up on comparis.ch you are better to look at the individual sites eg homegate, immoscout24 to get a better range of what is available. Also depending on what your planning, if it is out of the city (ie a local resturant) you should really target handworkers, get a list of local businesses and offer crazy deals at 9.00 (good coffee/hamburgers and fast service ect), (I am one of these guys) most are seriously loyal when it is good. But word of mouth is important, any place with a bunch of workers trucks parked around it at 9.00 is a good sign for the rest of the locals.

Thank you very much for your reply.
In fact, our idea is to open a small restaurant where peoples can eat GOOD FOOD and feel good also...
As I said, my husband is French and he aims is "la cuisine gastro" without claiming some fancy restaurant's results. So....we want to serve good food like AT HOME. For everyone and all budgets. :)

I don't understand very well what's about that restaurant in Maur. It seems to be already leased and under construction.

Anyway, thank you very much for your reply and...soon...

Hope to see you all, at us, at the grand opening evening! :)
