SARL and chomage

Hello everyone,

I'm a contractor currently working for a company in canton Vaud.
The company I work for deals with a Swiss payroll company who takes a percentage of my daily rate for their services.

I am considering setting up my own company (SARL?) in order to deal directly with the company I work for at the moment or other organizations in the future.

As my position/contract could be terminated at any point in the future I would like to know if I would be entitled to chomage (unemployment benefit) in case I lose my job?

I have heard that it might be difficult or not possible at all to get chomage as someone who has a registered business in Switzerland but I would like to know more about this and maybe one of the forum members has exprienced the scenario I'm describing and can provide me with some advice.

There are a lot of other stuff I still don't know about setting up a business but I decided to start with this question as I would like to have this (chomage) safety net in the case things don't go as planned.

I searched the forum for a thread that describes the question above but couldn't find something that answers the exact question raised above.
If it is there, then I appologise and maybe you can direct me to the thread

Thanks in advance for your help!

You would not be entitled if you have your own company. You have to wind up the company, or at least no longer be an officer.

Re: SARL and chomage

Entirely correct for chomage/RAV point of view

If you work 100% for one particuar client, it may become difficult to prove you are independant company and not an employee in disguise.

Whatever you hear on this forum some of it will be true and some total rubbish, and all shades of gray in between. Fatmans post is true,

Go get professional advice, pay an accountant for his time, go with your list of questions and you'll get some idea of what is possible for your personnal situation.
