Best place to market my wedding shop?

I got a wedding shop running for a little while and would like to market it better within switzerland.

Any recommendations where is a good place?

I am already on http://www.heiraten.ch/

I was considering englishforum or local.ch - what do you guys think?

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Hi there...is it a physical store or an online store? what is your website?

either way you need to start a blog on your website to attract online traffic. If you are in a certain location, say Basel, then make sure you appear in the Basel wedding results.

Would also suggest playing around with adwords to get traffic. Again, if you are a physical store then you can do this failry cheaply and very targeted.

I find putting stuff on Ricardo helps, that gets lots of hits. So you set up a business account with them and sell accessories, or suitable items and this is another way that people will find your business.

Lots more ideas, but that should get you going.

Good luck and all success.

Rich

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Create a commercial thread on EF, create a Facebook business page (check mine lined below) and post interesting stories and advice about weddings, get some PR and some stories in the press about what you do and how it is different to what is already in CH. All of these things are free and work!

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Wow...really beautiful site. Now I need info from you? Who did your webgraphics and photography? I feel completely ashamed of my site now!!

I would strongly suggest a blog for the following reasons:

- drives traffic
- allows you to present your products in a positive light and their uses to implant new ideas in your consumer and increase chance of purchase
- improves your onsite browsing stats and will increase buyers trust in you i.e. the more time they spend on the site, the more they feel they know you, this should increase your conversion stats
- auto responder...do you know what this is? I am guessing you have an incredible opportunity here to create a number of mail outs through the relatively short lifecycle of wedding preparation...again to keep you in front of the customer, provide them with new ideas (and ultimately improve their wedding experience), and suggestive sell. Make sure you set it up so that after their wedding they receive different messages...(important here is to capture their wedding date in your email capture form)
- customer referral program - offer incentives to people who refer their friends...write it off as marketing costs for new customer acquisition. Might work in your market i.e. why do all my friends get married in the same year???

Also feedback on your home page...you don't explain clearly your product and your benefit upfront. I read your blurb and I know you do "something" for weddings and have "something" for each stage...but have no idea what that "something" is. You might want to explain what that is. I am not being smart here I am being deadly serious. You have just created a filter for your customer in that they need to do work to understand your offer. It is a turn off. If I can ask...what is your bounce rate? (always look at your stats not some strangers free opinion...you get what you pay for )

To this end...you have organised your site around the wedding stages...you might want to think about a product grouping as well...give them as much opportunity to understand your offer as possible...

I could keep going and am happy to. And again, i believe in helping through giving unfiltered feedback. I can tell you have put allot into your site, and there is nothing random about it, but we all have areas to improve which is to our own benefit ultimately.

But really impressive and beautiful site. Please let me know who did it for you.

Final thought...listen to the previous poster and go the PR routes...nowadays it is relatively easy to get your voice out their on the internet (a bit harder to have it listened to

Cheers!!

Rich

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Thanks for your answer.

What is "auto responder"?

I also agree to have a blog - problem is that my german is poor and will be hard to maintain. Would love to have one though!

My bounce rate for the last three months is 0.23%.

One can shop by product but not properly implemented:

PM me and I will send you the designer.

Cheers!

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Your site is lovely.

My German is lacking, but if your intention is to have a site in both German and English, make sure your English is edited - there are some small errors on the page with the invitations, etc. Going forward, would you also plan to include French at least?

Are you planning to create categories for the other wedding stages? Also, as above, I think you need to be specific about what you offer - you're not selling wedding dresses or flowers, or booking ceremonies - it seems like you're offering invitations, decorations, etc. It's a wonderful idea, and small touches like this often create the atmosphere.

You're capturing email addresses for a newsletter - make sure you keep in touch on a regular basis. Also, do you plan to offer the newsletter in both German and English?

Best of luck with this!

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Thank you!

When you say "create categories for other wedding stages" - which one do you mean then?

You are correct about what I offer - what is your view where to point that out? Just on the first page?

I do offer newsletter in german and english (even though the german is a lot bigger).

I didn't click through everything, but for the prewedding stuff and the party, you have several categories (favors, etc). But for the ceremony, after wedding, there aren't any categories - is that because you don't offer individual items for that?

I think you need to create a tag line - not sure what it would be - but make sure it appears on every page ( stationery and party needs, but more interesting than that). Then, you need an explanation on the main page, including some highlights of what you offer (like the seeds, design processes, etc).

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Thanks for the feedback.

What do you mean by tag line? Didnt really follow.

You are right about the dropdowns - for prewedding / ceremony and party I currently do not have that many productst that I need to group them (less clicks).

Also - I created this catalogue that shows all the products (just a draft):

Appreciate all the comments!

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Tagline would be name of your site, and underneath it, a descriptive phrase, like

sitename.ch
your shop for quality wedding accesories

(that's lame, but you get the idea)

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Ah ok

I have that in the logo - but probably even more fluffy. Kissloud - make your day unique

Then I also have it in the title of the page (Kissloud - der Schweizer Hochzeitsshop).

Thanks for all support!

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Make your website searchable in Google. You can find a lot of info on that on the Internet or search for Google Webmaster tips. It's realy very helpful and you will see a number of visitors increasing

Re: Best place to market my wedding shop?

Thanks guys.

Those things are fundamental and something I have done already...

SEO enhancement
Getting links in-, out
Content Relevant Text
Google Ads
Google Place

Was thinking more of relevant places to advertise. Old school advertising
