Payroll software recommendation

Sage have Sage Start Lohnbuchhaltung for 385.00 (including updates).
greencube .ch have a free offering, but ad supported

Does anyone know of other Swiss payroll software or have any specific recommendations.

It's only for a handful of employees.

Re: Payroll software recommendation

Small company - though as my work is SAP related, I am in a position to install and run SAP. It's the license costs that would put me off!

I'll check Abacus out. What I'd really like is software that works for CH, but runs in English. Edit: looked at Abacus. They don't publish the price on their website. That sounds like it's going to be expensive.

no, it will be customizing and maintenance that will make it expensive

Not really. It's what I do for a living. I'll charge myself very reasonable rates.

Did you check Abacus? Which did you settle on? Have a very similar need; no point reinventing the wheel if you have already done all the research!

Re: Payroll software recommendation

If you haven't made a decision on a software program I could share a simple excel salary spread sheet with you. Our Swiss accountant made it for us so we could keep the monthly payroll admin costs down. I have a couple of variations depending a the scenarios between salary vs. hourly pay, withholding taxes etc.. I simply have to fill in a couple of variants depending on the circumstances of the employee.

This system works well for us being a very small firm. We do have the accountant complete all the the year end accounting statements and take care of any adjustments required for AHV and pillar 2 contributions so it might not meet your needs. But if it sounds like it's something that could work for you I can send them along. Just send me a pm if interested.

Re: Payroll software recommendation

Swissish,

Would gladly take a look at the Excel model that you have developed - please email. I created a simple mechanism in Excel as well as we are also a small firm.

Thanks,
George

Re: Payroll software recommendation

Can anyone perform payroll duties or do you have to be qualified?
I have a simple one "self-employed" show, so the Excel would be useful.

I'd be interested to see this excel, sounds good. An accountant trying to save you money... is that legal?

Re: Payroll software recommendation

Hi all,

My husband and I have a single employee (owner) company set up in Schwyz. Plan is to hire 2-4 more employeers over the coming 1-2 years. Can someone please advise if its best to go with a domestic payroll management company? Or would a software suffice? And if someone has a company in mind, which one would you recommend?

Thank you for your feedback.

If you know what you are doing the excel above would be sufficient. Or you have it done once by a local admin and continue in the same manner. The Abacus software is like overkill for you especially if you have no accounting experience. (if you do use an excel)

What did you decide upon?
