Chef looking for help in finding work

I have recent moved to Switzerland with my family in March of 2015. I have taken the time off until now to help my two boys adjust to the change, but I would like to get back into working.

I was a chef in the US in Boston and I am a little unfamiliar where to look via websites and local ads for prospective jobs for chefs in the Lucern or Zug areas?

I would greatly appreciate any helpful suggestions or places to look into. I am missing being at work very much and would really like to get back into the swing of a normal work day.

Many thanks for reading and any help,
Amanda

Re: Chef looking for help in finding work

This certainly isn't my area of expertise, but Googling Gastronomie Luzern seems to come up with quite a few links. Even if it doesn't help you find a job quickly, translating all the relevant texts will do your German a lot of good.

Good luck in your search.

Hey Amanda,

You might want to check out the 'Jobs Wanted' forum here: http://www.englishforum.ch/jobs-wanted/

...and perhaps keep an eye out for ads posted in the 'Jobs Offered' forum here: http://www.englishforum.ch/jobs-offered/

Good luck!

Josh

I'm not sure, but maybe try one of the Mövenpick Marche's out there? The ones next to the autobahn seem to be quite large and maybe could use your skills. Could be a place to start.

Gastro Suisse. Then there is a few news papers where they post (hospitality specific)

Look into the many hospitality schools.
I mean there is tons of places that have restaurants from companies, to hospitals, to restaurants. So you just need to get out there and look.

I am sure there are agencies you should also register with. Visit the restaurants with your CV, etc. etc.

Re: Chef looking for help in finding work

hi
while i frequent staff finder a lot for casual income supplement, the demand on the public jobs tab for chefs is rather high. they pay astronomical fees (in comparison to the regular unskilled labor) and i always see plenty of spaces that are unfilled in that line.
if you have the time, register and check it out.
