| | Cleaning Service
Dear friends
I would like to get some help.
I came in Switzerland a few weeks ago and i want to open a Cleaning Service with a person who lives here more than 20 years and has a C resident permit and speaks like a native Swiss. We would open German - English cleaning service.
Im a holder of Italian citizenship and i dont yet have any residence permit since I can work here for 3 months without it.
Now i would like to get some help of people who know somethings about this.
My first question is:
1. When we open our business do I need to applay for residence permit right away, or after 3 months expire? I read that for self business you need to come with your passport and bank paper that says that you can support yourself with that job. Im guessin that is after 3 months.
2. Its not about this but i guess you guys know something.
Its about sim card. Is there chance that I can buy sim card on my own cuz I heard that you need to live here to get one.
3. Can I open my own bank account with no residence permit yet?
Wish you all have a good day!

"You do not require authorisation for short-term employment of up to three months or 90 days per calendar year. It is nevertheless required to register your employment." | | | | | I'm not an expert, but I think the 3-month rule is geared toward seasonal workers. You're not here to work short-term. You want to open a business and stay here long-term. Your best bet for accurate information is to contact the Kreisburo where you're living and ask them what you need to do, both in terms of registering your business and in terms of securing a residence/work permit. It may be that since you plan to be here long term you need to register now, sort your health insurance, etc.
Yes, you'll need to show you have sufficient income to support yourself. The general figure is 100 CHF per person, per day. Depending on the type of business you plan to open (GmbH, etc.) there may be additional paperwork proving you have sufficient funds for the business, and a business plan.
Here are some threads that may have helpful info for you: Starting a business in Switzerland. Einzelfirma & Gmbh details in Zurich? [starting a business] Starting a business with Permit B
Good luck!
Edit - I don't know about the SIM and bank account, but I'd imagine both would require at least a valid address here and an ID.

2) Obviously Switzerland, like any country, has pre-paid sims.
3) Again, search and do some research... "open bank account" has a lot of similar information http://www.englishforum.ch/search2.p...ount&logic=and |

Thank you so much. | | | | | Sorry, I am not an expert and as such can only offer suggestions. Again, depending on the type of firm you want to start, you may need a business plan and proof of sufficient funds in advance. If your business is going to be your main source of income (as opposed to savings) then I believe you will need to show a list of clients that will "prove" you'll have enough income to support yourself. That's back to the 100 CHF per person per day I mentioned.
I know it's a pain to search through old threads and read replies that might not be exactly like your situation. That's why I suggested contacting the Kreisburo, as they will be the ones to process your residence/work permit in the end.
One other note - please don't use txt spk in your posts. Many of our members and readers are not native English speakers and might not understand what you're trying to say or even misinterpret it. Please take the time to spell out your words. Thanks! |

Is it maybe possible that my family member opens a company by himself and then hires me as his employee? | Quote: | | | | | Sorry, I am not an expert and as such can only offer suggestions. But again - whether someone else employs you, or whether you employ yourself, you must be able to prove to the authorities you have enough money to support yourself. That's the bottom line.
Assuming you're in the city, start here: https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/prd/en/...nmeldeamt.html |

Understand that you cannot start work until you register as being resident here. There's no 3 month working without a permit unless it's done via the short registration system and even then you must be registered on the system before you can start working. https://www.bfm.admin.ch/bfm/en/home...verfahren.html
But that is only for temporary workers, not for people planning to stay in Switzerland long term. So you need to register at the kreisboro NOW! If you work without registering you're doing so illegally.

Maybe this post can offer you more help: Help for Businesses/Freelancers in CH
And I agree: first thing should be to ask for a work permit. Good luck!
