Self-employed in France, Swiss resident visa B - set up tax status here

Dear all

I am looking for some advice on setting up tax status here in Swtitzerland.

My situation is that I have set up as self-employed in France and therefore paying taxes there. My clients are international which is fine for my business status in France.

I have recently moved to Bern and have the potential for a consultancy project with a Swiss organisation. They, understandably, would like me to confirm that I am properly registered etc.

As I wasn't expecting to be working for an organisation here, it is something I was going to do later this year.

Can anyone point me to any relevant information and advice or professional (tax accountant, chamber of commerce) that would be able to help me work out what I need to do and where to do it.

Many thanks, look forward to hearing from you

Lou

Quite simple, register as being a resident of Switzerland and take it from there. You will probably need to move your business to Switzerland as you'll no longer be a resident of France. If the Swiss authorities decide your business plan is good and you have the finances to establish the business then you'll get a self-employment permit.
