Re: Selling on Amazon FBA from Switzerland

I used to sell on Amazon (UK, ES, FR, DE, IT, US, CA) and shipped worldwide, but I did not use the FBA system.

Re: Selling on Amazon FBA from Switzerland

FBA is a very convenient system for Pro vendors, and also buyers alike, but really to the benefit of the buyer to have quick access (prime). Amazon takes care of everything from the moment your goods arrive in their warehouses, and the costs are charged back to the vendor accordingly. I have read in many forums that so long as your margin exceeds the FBA costs, it is worthwhile to use FBA. There are specific packing instructions per product type that you would have to manage, otherwise repacking costs are charged back to the vendor. (For example, breakable products have to survive a drop test.) There are also specific times where expiry-sensitive products are accepted for storage. (Storage costs are another factor ... if the goods do not move fast, the costs for storage eats into margins.) Date-sensitive products are accepted certain months, and then disposed off by Amazon if they are unsold. I believe you can also use FBA to fulfill your other e-Commerce (multi-channel fulfillment), and those arrive to your buyer in a box without the FBA logo. HTH. Good luck with your start for a new business venture :-)

Re: Selling on Amazon FBA from Switzerland

Which Amazon domain should/can you use if you just want to sell books/DVS's etc?

I have accounts on amazon.co.uk and amazon.com but how do you calculate the shipping as you are in Switzerland?

Are you able to specify that the goods are in Switzerland?

I am sure people on the forum have real experience.

Hello everyone, do you know if, with a Sole Enterprise in Switzerland, I can open a business Amazon account? Or do I need to open another type a company? Could you please help me with more information from your experience? Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi guys, can someone let me know if they were successful. I have tried myself but Amazon just suspends my account without reason and when I ask why, they tell me nothing. I provided a British passport and a home address in Switzerland.

Re: Selling on Amazon FBA from Switzerland

hi guys, i am currently selling in the US from Switzerland, however I am from the US originally which is where I set up my LLC. You could always try setting up an LLC in a state like Delaware and proceed with the tax id from your US business. I'm not sure why you would be suspended for using Swiss information, though I do believe you will need a US bank account, maybe that's the hang up? Here's a link from Jungle Scout, detailing the specifics. The article covers some fundamentals and the video is more in depth.

Re: Selling on Amazon FBA from Switzerland

Hello, I see no one got an answer about selling on Amazon... Or am I wrong and someone has info how it works? I have production in Slovenia and an SA company in Switzerland. Thinking to use the Swiss company as a seller on Amazon. I would appreciate any info, help and/or contacts.

Re: Selling on Amazon FBA from Switzerland

I would just contact amazon themselves. There are Swiss sellers on the European amazon sites, who ship the stuff themselves from Switzerland to wherever. I don't know if any use the amazon storage and shipping system.

Re: Selling on Amazon FBA from Switzerland

I intended to sign up to be a seller on amazon. fr,uk,de,e, it,
but i found it too complicated, so i dropped the idea. unbeknownst to me, they debited my credit card monthly.
i have requested a refund and they agreed, but they require a bank account which is not in Switzerland.
they say that refunds can not be paid to a credit card but only to a bank account.
Amazon will close my seller account only when I can give them my bank account ( uk, de , it e, fr) which I don't have only a swiss bank account. Amazon says they are working on this problem.
Has anybody had this problem or have you got a solution.
thanks.

If you are planning to ship from DE you need to register with VAT there. We did with the UK and keep our product there. And also registered for VAT in the UK and pay of course every quoter. You can do yourself, which is a little complicated to set everything up, or pay a company, I believe around or over 1,000 pound per year for 4 filings

Did you resolve this? Could opening a free bank account in a neighbouring country be an option?

Hi, they usually want everything to match perfectly. The utility bill address and name, the credit card name and address, the personal / business details in the account.

It looks like sometimes small discrepancies can get the account suspended.
