Sex toys was just an example
Audience is from 20 to 65. If people ask for Twint then I will use it, otherwise I will just stick with CC and PayPal for now.

I just installed it on my phone as a backup when i forgot my wallet and it came useful a few times. Now I also use it as a convenient way to transfer funds to people I know.

Many small business like farmers use it. But instead of credit cards. In most Hofläden you can use twint. I think it's very convenient.
Also to send money to friends.
If you have an online shop and already have a cc option then I am not sure if there is a huge demand for twint. But it's a good product.

Twint is useful to transfer money to the random dude which just paid for your tank filling because you were so stupid to leave the wallet at home. | Quote: | | | | | Audience is from 20 to 65. Legally you can go as low as 16 and upwards there is no limit.

TWINT is useful I my opinion
Easy and quick way to send money using just a phone number, very convenient for my kids when they are suddenly out of money. They get them just in a few seconds.
Easy to pay/receive payments while selling/buying second hand
Easy payments in local self service farm shops when you don’t have exact amount on you
More swiss shops online offers now TWINT payment, for me süper because I normally can’t pay online with my swiss bank card, but can pay by TWINT.
I run fast food restaurant and more and more people use TWINT to pay.

TWINT has no buyer protection when buying online, unlike a credit card. If you pay for something and it doesn't arrive, you're at the shop's mercy. Therefore, if I use it, then only with the online shops I trust.

Why not offer to accept Twint, but as one-off transfers. You’d have to give your phone number and other details but that might allow you gauge demand.

If this was Britain, and it was being pitched to the youth market, the slogan writes itself. Don't be a twunt, use Twint
Sadly, that wouldn't work here. Such a shame.

Is Twint a must-have these days as a small merchant selling stuff online?
Imagine I am selling sex toys online. Currently, I have credit card and Paypal payment option. Should I add Twint too?
Twint plugin for WooCommerce will cost me CHF99 yearly. | | | | | And there I thought your goat-cheese start up was kicking off. | Quote: | | | | | It seems a lot of youngsters are into Twint though! Credit card for them seems to be what old people use | | | | | Well, I got a mate who's 75 using Twint to pay parking lots and stuff for years now. On the other hand he gets his cash regularly and pays everything from restaurants to petrol with that. I do it basically the other way around (with credit card though).
The only time I wondered about getting it was on farms, selling their goodies. Still haven't though. I still believe that we should fight for cash surviving. Yep, that sounds old fashioned but if they manage to make their dream come true and abolish cash all together we'll see how long everybody will enjoy being completely vitreously.

A Hofladen by us has Twint as a QR code but prefers cash. The owner said Twint can take 5% if you pay via the QR code which seems rather punative! Anyone can corroborate this or have other insights into their fees?

| | Re: Are you using Twint? | Quote: | | | | | I fully agree! I tried several times but comparing to contactless chip or Apple pay it's a nightmare to use. It's not just a bit slower than Apple pay, it's several times slower and that difference is simply unacceptable for me. Needless to say it does not work abroad. | | | | | Twint will be developing into markets further afield in 2021 so that you will be able to pay to merchants abroad if you so wish. More I cannot say.

I thanked him and put the banknotes in my wallet, where they are still nestled. It wasn't until the next day that I realised he'd paid me in euros... I had forgotten what Swiss cash looks like!

Another selling point for Twint; paying for parking instead of money. Simple and if you come back, you can get a refund on unused credit.

My son is 14 and uses Twint?! I find it very useful to send him his pocket money, or some additional funds when he faces additional costs during the week.

I still have no luck with TWINT..
Back in the early days it would work for one transfer in or out.. Then just stop working telling me to contact my bank. I contacted them, it worked once more, stopped working.. I changed phone and it went through same nonsense again.
I gave up for a couple of years and tried again couple of months ago, I tested it by transferring 1.- to a friend who transferred it back to me.. Great i thought, then couple of days later I tried to give somebody 20.- .. No cheese.. I exceeded my limit it said ..
I emailed my bank and they told me to call some advisor .. It's just a pain ..

I've been TWINTING since forever. I have a joint account with my better half, so all shopping, Zol for the postie etc comes out of TWINT. We do all our shopping with small businesses and farmers so it's really convenient.

I've had it installed for over a year, but I think I only really started using it in the last few months. Paying people contactless has become more acceptable these days.
I also found out that it can be used in coop after reaching the till without a wallet, running to the car, no wallet found, running back in and apologising. Then the lady just asked if I have twint on my phone and looked at me like a fool. A fool I was as well.
