Creditcard Payment Service providers for website

I am currently looking into receiving creditcard payments for our online business.

We already work with Cash-on-pickup / delivery, banktransfer and Paypal.

Platform is Wordpress.org and Woocommerce shop

Does anyone have experience with or recommendations for Creditcard Payment Service Providers here in Switzerland ?

So far any searches have not brought me a lot.

Stripe seems to be quite popular, but I have no experience in this field just a company I've come across.

I use Stripe for my online shop. Highly recommended, easy to set up and simple to work with. Payments take about 3 days to get to my account.

We currently use Braintree and receive the payments the next working day, which is very helpful.
Also recently came across Stripe and it seems to have better features with slightly lower charges than Braintree.

Thanks for the info about Stripe, I did not know they were available here.

For my online shop I changed over to them from Braintree where I had problems. The problems were with the software I used to handle the payment not with Braintree themselves who were very helpful.

Did have some start up problems with Stripe but could fix myself, again the problems were with the software I used to handle the payment.

Stripe is working fine now.

Reading this thread and out of curiosity, I checked stripe website and if understood correctly, they charge a fixed fee of $0.30 (plus some percentage) for each transaction!! Isn't that outrageous for small amounts?

Are there any better alternatives that take only a percentage of the transaction and no fixed fee?

2.9% is the important figure - and that makes no difference whatever the price of the goods are!!

I tried Postfinance but they could not deal with my request electronically, they simply kept phoning me at inconvenient times!

Maybe if they could actually get in contact with me I could use this service ?

I have a PostFinance account, I simply need the passwords for ecommerce

My point is, having a fixed fee instead of percentage is terribly disadvantageous for small payments, no? How hasn't competition fixed that yet? I'm just a consumer, so no experience.

Yes, but then it has been like that for ages now. Ever seen a notice: no EC card payment for purchases below CHF/EUR 10?

That´s why

Re: Creditcard Payment Service providers for website

Stripe is one of the industry leaders right now from an implementation perspective and a general company-leadership-position in the market perspective.

Flat fees per transaction are not bad when the % is low, and 2.9% is low compared to other providers.

I'd go with Stripe and not waste your time elsewhere.

Re: Creditcard Payment Service providers for website

To any Stripe.com users here;
According to the Stripe website they also accept debit cards here in Switzerland.
But so far as I know the debit cards issued here in Switzerland do not conform to the standards required for online transactions.

Anybody else looked at this or have relevant experience/comments?

Thanks in advance
