Certification for selling imported appliances from Japan?

Hi everyone
i have idea to sell some special appliances for other businesses (food, pharma, bakery, etc manufacturers/factories) from Japan.
Despite voltage difference and electrical sockets replacement - do i need to have any certificate (like CE mark) on those?
To sell - i will register as sole entrepreneur.
Appreciate your comments and suggestions.
Alex

The Swiss certificate is SEV.

Why not ask your questions here? They should have all the answers or tell you whom else to check with.

A CE mark is not a certificate, but a very simple self declaration. If you don't even know that do I suggest to do some homework... and by that do I not mean a two line question on a public forum.

Well, in his defence. A CE mark is a certification mark

Also check, if you yourself need to be qualified to do the voltage and plug conversion, before selling commercially to the public.

The Agreement on Free Trade and Economic Partnership (FTEPA) between Switzerland and Japan contains provisions on mutual recognition of conformity assessment procedures. So that would be a starting point. However, you would need to check in detail what is covered and what is not.

It will make sense to have this looked at professionally. Send me a PM.
