What is the minimum to start a sole proprietorship?

Hi,

I read through different posts and the net but couldn't find anything.

So there are some minimum requirements to start a sole proprietorship. But my question is when can I say that I have started my sole proprietorship?

There is said that you must register with the chamber of commerce if you earn +100k annually. So what if I don't earn that much? There is no other registration requirement and I can simply say in my letters blabla and Sons?

It's 100k turnover or 2200 profit in the year, something like that

You can retroactively start your raison individuelle and TVA

To commence business with the aim to get ongoing earnings. Profit is not necessary.

No. "and Sons" would indicate a collective partnership of at least three people and thus is a misleading name for a sole proprietorship. (In a collective partnership at least two person are jointly liable)
Rules: Must include your family name and must not be misleading about the kind of your business.

You must at least register with the social insurance of your canton.

Hi,
There are no specific prerequisites to start a sole proprietorship. If you want to stay good in eyes of canton authorities and to show your potential clients that you are serious which sometimes they demand, you can prove that your company is registered in chamber of commerce. Regardless of your turnover, you should register it because of above two benefits. It costs around 200.- CHF in Neuchâtel.

Cheers
