Self-employed but found a job! AHV question...

Been looking through the threads but not entirely sure so I would need some help

I've been self-employed for 5-6 years now and been registered at the SVA as Selbständige Tätigkeit, paid my quarterly bills on time:

1. Recently found a part-time job starting next year(I've never been employed in switzerland before, pretty euphoric now, and scared), do I have to inform this to the SVA, that I am expecting a job?

2. And when I get the tax bill, from my understanding, the 50% AHV I will have to contribute is already included in the tax? And they won't send me quarterly bills like the Selbständige Tätigkeit?

3. Something I should have known but not sure of, from 2014-2016 I received letters from the SVA which said my actual income was less than the estimation, I actually paid a little bit extra and to my Günsten they're sending me back some money. Do I actually have to let them know at the end of the year what I made that year (if it's not a big difference) or will they anyway get the info from the tax authorities? (please forgive me, back then my german was really bad and I just paid whatever bills they sent me as long as I don't get any Mahnung and I never looked into details.)

At last just to share a fact that shocked me, have you guys asked for your AHV contribution record before? I asked for one, and the records only last till 2015, I wrote them and they told me the contributions of the self-employed are booked as soon as they receive the final assessment from the federal tax. This can often take longer, sometimes up to five years

Thank you in advance!

It would be a good idea to inform them in advance so that the quarterly AHV bill you get, which will also cover the period where you are going to be in employment, can be adjusted. Anyway, if you don't do this, any over payment will be refunded.

2. And when I get the tax bill, from my understanding, the 50% AHV I will have to contribute is already included in the tax? And they won't send me quarterly bills like the Selbständige Tätigkeit?
Your employer makes all such deductions from your salary and forwards these to the appropriate government office. If you are now in full time employment, you should not have to pay these yourself.

3. Something I should have known but not sure of, from 2014-2016 I received letters from the SVA which said my actual income was less than the estimation, I actually paid a little bit extra and to my Günsten they're sending me back some money. The AHV get information from the tax authorities as your next point makes clear. They do want know in advance, however, what your approximate income will be to calculate your quarterly bills.

At last just to share a fact that shocked me, have you guys asked for your AHV contribution record before? Makes sense since your AHV contributions are dependent on your taxable income so only when this is finalised, can the correct AHV calculation be made. Clearly if an employer is making your AHV contributions, you need to be able to see this statement much sooner to reassure yourself that the employer is actually paying the AHV contributions that are deducted from your salary.

Thank you in advance!
