Shredded paper is accepted in paper bags with the cardboard collection in our NOTW (neck of the woods)....
probably because they burn it with the cardboard.

If they are only paper, couldnĎt you put the balls out in a bag for the free paper collection??
The soap content probably ruins it for that.

As usual the video ends before telling you where to put that mess you created. Please, please, don't try to flush it down the toilet. (Unless you have your own house, it will teach you to do it only once).

Why would they bother to pick it up on a separate round when burning it with the normal household-trash?

At our place they come three times on the day we're scheduled! I know that because I once stopped and asked them, what exactly they didn't like about my cardboard pile when they took the paper stack. They said; "We'll be back for that". And they were. I'm not sure how environmental it is to separate paper and cardboard if that monster-truck drives out to our hamlet for each type.
