In Zurich there are plenty of FB and Meetup groups for entrepreneurs, I'm sure Basel will have some too. Just do a search

Nope. If you are starting up a company are the first two or three people so much harder to hire than if you are a big organization. It really does not matter if it’s a partner or employee- finding the right person is super hard.

Agree, a partner with the same desire for the same goal as you, is harsh... Im truly surprised that the general Swiss Entrepreneur Facebook Groups are kind of dead...

Perhaps you could look outside of Facebook. It's just not as much the Go To place, in Switzerland, as it is elsewhere.

Have you worked your way through the groups here? https://www.meetup.com/de-DE/cities/...ate=&radius=25

This is a business which provides services for those wanting to start up a new venture: https://www.ifj.ch/en (in English) and they will soon be holding a course/meet-up event:
https://www.ifj.ch/olma?gclid=EAIaIQ...SAAEgJfzvD_BwE (text in German)

https://www.startups.ch/ is another such company, and they, too, might have such contact groups.

Other than that, look for specialists who already work in the areas, or adjuct fields, of what your project would do, and try to go and talk to them. They may be your future suppliers or customers or competitors... or colleagues.

Re: How/Where to find another Entrepreneur for a project?

Here's the umbrella commercial organisation for small and medium-sized businesses, in St. Gallen.
https://www.gewerbesg.ch/wir-ueber-uns/mitglieder.html
It's in German, waiting for deepl if you can't read it yourself.

It might be worth your while spending some time researching who they are, individually, and which of them speak English (I think you said you need English... did you?) and are in a field that would be connected to yours, or just about supporting new businesses. Then ask if you could go by to talk to them, and ask their advice, just for 20 minutes. They are there, and they know people who know people, and someone might wish to work in your project.

Hey doropfiz!

Thanks for all those links! I have completely forgot that Meetups existed, thanks for reminding me of it! Will take a look at the IFJ site now

Re: How/Where to find another Entrepreneur for a project?

So a bit of an update for those few who are following the thread...

Meetups:
- With all this COVID there are hardly any meetup, there are YES, but just a few and not in St. Gallen
- Most of the Meetups that seems that the people are gathering are around Zurich

Facebook groups:
- Are basically dead, so for anyone trying to do something there, dont bother

Im finding it the "find a partner" stage unecessary difficult maybe because there are not so many people in St. Gallen as there are in Zurich for example...

Will try to attend one of the events from ifj

Again if someone is interested on participating in the project, let me know... even more if you live somewhere close to St. Gallen, speak german and have some experience in sales/marketing

Thanks MusicChick!

Even if they dont know Sales or Marketing, the important here is someone who speaks Deutsch and have energy and passion for building a business (and want to escape the rat race... )

Well...anyone in enterpreunship for long enough will point out that there is a rat race and then there is self-employed rat race. I had my own business for a long time and was my worst boss in terms of a "rat race". One starts feeling time, productivity and potential differently, especially when young and energetic, auch.

To my eyes - correct me if Im wrong - this is sort of the progress/evolution:

1.- Get a job
2.- Save cash / Learn entrepreneurship
3.- Start on your part time with the new business
4.- Swap to full time to the new business - once its working...
5.- Grow and hire people (Leverage)
6.- Repeat from step 3 with a new business OR make the current one grow as much as you can

In terms of the earnings:
1.- Should be enough to cover your expenses
2.- The superhabit, invest it in the business
3.- Invest in something else

I never had employees since I had no time: 1+2+3 - got a job, started enterpreneurship + got into uni, all at once It was hell but worked.

There are many ways to swing it, in terms of minimizing risks. Independents are exciting people, more likely to share - I hope they will come out of the woodwork to share with you too.

Independents have a particular mindset wrt risk taking too, I studied that because it is linked to efficient meta-cognition. It is not only about finances and risk but how you think. It affects the stress processing (turning it positive, to recharge). So rat-race...or exciting way of self construction..and if it is in some help related field, feels really good. Making a difference. Improving status quo. I don't mean to spiel, just want to give you big thumbs up.
