After two days of waiting, I've got my money back on UBS account. strange why it didn't go through.
and had to use credit card to pop up Revolut account with 1.5% fee. will have to look for alternatives from Revolut for my euro payments.... | | | | | Ask your bank why it was returned?

Be weary of large one off transfers to/from revolut. The really awful algorithm will usually flag it for review in which case it is stuck in limbo. I have EU bank accounts, so top up Euro's from there using my CC and no fee even though I have just the free standard account.
For payments in Switzerland / CHF I use Twint or my Swiss credit cards.
On my Revolut Business card a transfer from Raiffeisen, with the order given in the evening, is on my account by 8 am next morning.

I had the same thing happen. Look on your revolut account details. There’s a reference. Make sure that’s entered correctly when you send the money. Fixed it for me.

Its a Debit Credit Card in Euro that I use to pay within the EU. I pay 0.30 Chf for a Sepa transfer to top it up. No matter the amount. I like it!

I didnßt do that, I just wrote IBAN Number; UBS said that "The transfer was returned by the recipient or the recipient's bank."

The IBAN is for an account that Revolut hold with Credit Suisse, then they put the money from there onto your account.

Exactly this, they reject it because they don't know where it's going.

Not good.
I just panicked and checked my Revolut account. On November 29th I sent some CHF from my usual bank account to Revolut's CHF account via account transfer, not debit card. I wasn't charged anything for the transfer.

I’m beginning to wonder if I need Revolut at all… | | | | | Unfortunately you are right...I have a Credit Suisse account and they charge a lot of things, outside of EU (they said)...for a regular bank transfer Credit Suisse allows only one line reference...Revolut needs the reference written exactly like in the app and that is three lines. They sent the money back...long story. I am exploring as well other options but for the next year I got an offer for the Metall Card for 90 chf instead of 180 so I have time |

I did get a while back an email from Revolut saying that they will have all kind of charges for Swiss customers who use the free Revolut card. They do not charge me now as I have the Metal Card. They will not charge you for regular bank transfer even if you have the free card.

If I need to top up my Revolut account, I add funds either by bank transfer from BLKB to the CS Account of Revolut mentioning my Reference as shown in the Revolut app under Account details (addad the next day) or if I need the money faster, I use my Swisscard AECS Miles&More Mastercard (added instantly) at no extra cost. Swisscard is part of CS, thats probably why it is free.
Used the VISA I recently got from Cornerbank and they charged me CHF 4.95 for CHF 100.00 Revolut top up.
I have the metall plan from Revolut and was OK with it, but since recently they charge a "international payment fee" (This month a total of $20.57 for $'11418 in $ transferred in 4 transfers) for every transaction to my Bank of America account, before 3 transfers per month were free. So now I am thinking to downgrade to Premium.
Transfers to my Dutch bank accounts were done within seconds and free of charge.

This is the email I got:
On 25/10/2022, we'll be introducing a processing fee when you add money to your account using a debit or credit card issued in Switzerland.
The fee will be 1.15% for debit cards and 1.5% for credit cards issued in Switzerland.
I assume this is for Standard Cards only.

| | Re: Banks - UBS, Revolut... | Quote: | | | | | Hi there
What is the best bank in which to receive payments coming from the US? - could be in EUR or USD currencies.
I have a UBS account, and also a Revolut one.
I understand exch rates in Revolut probably better. Not clear on fees though (assuming within my limit of 5 free transfers a month).
And for EUR / GBP payments coming from SEPA region - EUR/UK?
Ultimately I live from my UBS account so no point me accumulating too much in Revolut. I am a solopreneur.
Thanks

I stopped using Revolut, when they started charging me to spend GBP when it was already in GBP in my Revout account. Wise are much better.
Always transfer money in by bank transfer though, use a card and your Swiss bank will charge you an overseas fee, defeating the object of using Revolut/Wise in the first place.

I wonder if Wise borderless accounts are a better bet?
