Pillar.ch - Any thoughts?

Hi everyone!

I just saw this in an ad, I understand the concept and so, but what you guys think about this site? It looks a bit shady the fact that in order to see even the FAQ it asks you to become a user

Does anyone uses it? Any experience or similar sites?

Thanks!

Fractional real estate? My parents were victims of timeshares, run!!!

Even is the offer is not fraudulent. Returns in real estate are low, there's a middleman charging commissions, therefore not worth the hassle/risk.

Re: Pillar.ch - Any thoughts?

On the one hand it seems to have a reasonable bunch of employees, if their LinkedIn stuff is true.

On the other - being that opaque isn't a promising start.

"Up to" 12% return per year is a pointless headline that means nothing, but it isn't a crazy target, neither are their other options although 5% fixed income seems a bit optimistic.

What I'd really be looking at is the guarantees and auditing process, to ensure it isn't a pyramid scheme (read about Dolphin Trust, which may or may not have been legit when it started but soon wasn't).

Re: Pillar.ch - Any thoughts?

You provide credit by buying a bond (30 notice period during the first 6 months, going up to 12 months notice after 24 months). What's your creditor risk, what's their credit rating?

Usually, the risk is roughly proportionate to the projected earnings. What does that mean WRT to their offer of 5% p.a. for the 10 years fixed-term bond?

Alternatively, you can buy shares in real estate, an illiquid investment.

You'd buy a blackbox with indetermined risk, they're not even FINMA regulated. Maybe I should set up something like this, sounds profitable - for me of course, sod everybody else.

Don't even think about it. If you really must invest in property, just buy a REIT.
