How do Swiss people/authorities deal with registration if they for instance become homeless, or decide on a lifestyle that doesn’t have a fixed address?

Obviously not an option for foreigners as having a place to live is a permit requirement, but this just got me wondering about Swiss without an address.
Very big difference between being homeless and making such a lifestyle choice.

Plenty of foreigners are here and homeless. Some are:
- Sans papiers and known by the Canton they're living in to be here
- Sans papiers and not known by the Canton they're living in to be here
- Some Swiss citizens and foreigners are registered and homeless with no address
- Some Swiss citizens and foreigners are registered, and use a c/o address of 1 of the voluntary org's that's setup to handle mail

OP says:

The computer equipment I'll be running makes a lot noise (from fans) so many of the normal offices aren't suitable.

You can sleep or live there, but if it's a commercial property, registration is not possible.
A friend of mine once lived in an apartment in Zug, which is sort of both commercial and residential. His landlord told him that he can also register company there. I wonder what's the official definition and how to look it up.
