Switzerland is not low cost, nor is it a particularly price sensitive market. It has more to do with perceived quality, reputation and long term business relation, these probably make up not less than 50% of the price equation before you actually get talking about $$, or rather CHF.

This is why everything here is so expensive and why nobody really tries to break into the market, it's a very long and hard slog to get anywhere.

Re: Low cost Franchise in Switzerland

Pardon me, but this seems like possibly the kind of post that is now appearing on expat sites worldwide, changing the country name only. I mean I can't see how this kind of strategy would work, except if you are fishing for new trends in other markets. Because I can think of dozens of franchises in different countries, that may work outstanding there, but wouldn't work anywhere else. Look at Nestle. They have to be the Master Shin Fu of adapting their brand locally. If you ever get their Nescafe, and I have in Canada, US, Mexico, Portugal, France, here, and elswhere, and none of them taste them same. Now, that's not a franchise, but I wuld never recommend anyone outside of Kentucky to open an all night Waffle House or Piggly Wiggly in Wollishofen.

Four years are enough! I want my IHOP and my Big Boy either in Wollishofen, Schwamendingen, or Schlieren I do not care.

Back to the OPs question does any one know a Swiss franchise?
Güggeli Grill, Dieci, Pizza Blitz, any more? It looks like the Swiss do not really like the franchise concept. Neither as customeres nor as business people.

Grumpy do you offer a franchise option? British Cheese Center Thun Maybe?

Are those truly franchises though, or chains?

Big Boy : Franchise (Most of the mid-west Frisch's are company owned)
Güggeli Grill : Independently operated, company owned, or franchised.
Dieci : Company owned and franchise

Re: Low cost Franchise in Switzerland

So it seems that people in Switzerland don't usually respond well to franchises, but then McDonals, Burger King, and Domino's seem to be doing well. So where in Switzerland, or in the EU, does one get information about franchises? Are there any franchise fairs going on anywhere?

Contact a company you like directly that is doing franchises.

I mean how hard is it really?
