My buddy and I looked into that but they werent franchising to Europe at that time. .....now they are.....upon my return to the USA it will be the first meal I eat as soon as I get of the plane

Maybe its somewhere on the thread (I didn't trawl through all the "my sandwich taste is better than your sandwich taste" cobblers), but does anybody have any idea of the costs of starting a fast food franchise.

I'm absolutely not considering it, but was just interested in the kind of money involved to open a McDs, Subway, Dominos franchise....does anybody actually know ballpark numbers? (assume you already have a building but its not kitted out yet)
As long as you don't also consider opening a Quiznos as well...

I saw one in the last week. Can't remember if that was in Switzerland or London though.

A friend of mine looked at opening McDonalds in Vancouver area in Canada. The out of pocket cost was about 1 mil, for a place that wasn't nowhere. They would've picked the location, designed the place and handled the construction/renovation. You'd just pay for all of this, and then they would let you run the place on razor-sharp margins.
