Re: All you can eat Indian!

For the price I would have thought you could have another main dish on offer like a Biriani?

"for the price"

Please explain. Can you find me an indian buffet which takes place in the evening, as much as you can eat in Switzerland for less than 50.-. Even the lunch time buffet's are seldom found at a price like that.

I think you are either extremely greedy or just looking for something to complain about.

You are allowed to just not go, you know.

You don't need to give excuses. It's not your mum's*.

Unless you're Mrs McArthur's lad/lass. In which case you'd better have a bloody good reason for not turning up.

I did think of that, unfortunately our capacity for holding food warm wouldnt allow it.

Depending on how this one goes, we will ensure that in the future there will be a larger variety of Veggie options.

Thanks for your input

If you want to talk about 'being greedy' I think these 'all you can eat' offers are just a BS selling tool especially by pubs. If it's proper Indian food (also with a wide variety of choices) the dishes are always enough.

There are plenty of authentic (proper) Indian Restaurants around to eat at for the same price. Personally I always pay a little more for the quality anyway.

Lunchtime buffet @ CHF25, evening buffet is around CHF40.

Do I win free curry now?

Quite true, and I won't, even though I would normally find it hard to keep away from new places (or new offers) for Indian food in Switzerland at least to try

Whether it is good, bad or otherwise isn't it more about getting together with other EFers and having a great time regardless?

I was always brought up with "if you haven't got anything nice to say then don't say anything at all".

If the husband is in the country and I can get a babysitter I'll be there for a night of great conversation with new people.

I agree, this is just a sales idea. You cant really eat more than what you pay for within 3 hours, its not possible. What this offer allows you though, it to sample 4 starters and 3 different main courses at the same price as a starter and main at an indian restaurant.

There are plenty of Indian restaurants around, i am not trying to take you away from them either, but you will be hard pushed to find an indian restaurant with around 30 english speaking people standing around after having a drink and a laugh.....

You win a Beef Biriani, 'transition' will sort it out for you.

If I want to go there for a Beef Biriani during non-buffet hours it costs almost as much as our buffet! Transition want it plus the rest, greedy if you ask me

200+ posts and you have just now realized this?

I think it sounds all right - price certainly not out of line with similar offerings - and if you could offer some reassurance that the food would be "UK spicy" not "Swiss spicy" I think you'd probably get a few takers.

(I'm not sure if we're free that evening or not - will have to check with the OH - but I had my first-ever Balti over Christmas and mmmmmm.)

Being an Ex-pat owned pub, we can guarantee that this pub is run in the British way just like back in the uk, except we keep the toilets clean

Our Scottish cook will ensure that the dishes will have levels of spice to test non-swiss tastebuds. All swiss wishing to take part in the buffet will be pre-warned.

We will have many Scottish guests on this evening and I want to make sure we go through a good 200 litres of milk
