Basel, 12th January, 2011 Important announcement for Bergli Bookshop customers
At the end of January 2011 the Bergli Bookshop will close. The publishing side of Bergli Books will continue at our new offices on Falknerstrasse.
In spite of the bookshop's success and popularity in Basel's international community, a successor could not be found to take over the responsibility and management of the shop. Since I am not getting any younger, I've had to decide to dedicate my energies to Bergli's core business since 1990 – publishing books that focus on making the most of living in Switzerland. In a few months Bergli will publish Sue Style's long-awaited book on Swiss cheese and other books are on the way. So Bergli is still in business and we are full of ideas and inspiration and hope you will stay in contact with us.
The whole team at the Bergli Bookshop wishes to express appreciation to our customers, suppliers and partners in the book trade and to the many friends and associates who have made this eight-year adventure a truly rewarding experience we will never regret.

Information about special sales, outstanding orders and gift certificates
During January 2011 the bookshop will continue to order books for customers from suppliers in Switzerland and Germany but will no longer order books from suppliers in the US or the UK. Special sales with reduced prices will be held throughout the month.
After the shop closes at the end of January, any outstanding Bergli Books' vouchers or gift certificates can be returned for cash or exchanged for Schweizer Bücherbons or Pro Innenstadt vouchers by mailing them or bringing to our new office at Falknerstrasse. Likewise, any books you have ordered that have not arrived before closing date on 31st January can, once you receive notification of their arrival, be picked up at the Bergli Books' new office. Shop farewells Please plan to visit the shop on Saturday, 29th January, anytime between 11 am and 6 pm when we are planning a splash sale and farewell to the Bergli team of booksellers at Rümelinsplatz. ________________________________________________
