Sorry, been trying to persuade a friend to come but she won't. I can't get there for 10, but can I still come?

Re: English breakfast plus QUIZ

I'm sorry - I came, I saw, hung about for a bit, ran away. All places seemed to be taken and couldn't tell who was who. Too shy to walk around the pub asking random strangers if they were EF members and begging a corner of their table. Won't come alone next time, or build up enough bottle to get beyond just getting there - or will follow advice of other EFers, turn up early to meet people if you're a newbie

LOL! I still don't know how we won. You lot were whooping and cheering so much that it seemed like you were way ahead. Seems you weren't whooping and cheering about getting the answers right, just shouting about like a mad bunch

Has LiB got over the fact he lost yet?

I had a great time and look forward to the next one which I've been informed should be end of March.

Can we afford to pay for that?

Oh. That's right. We don't have to

Thank you Ian, for another lovely breakfast and for going the extra mile doing the quiz when you probably really didn't need to.

Oh. And sorry for the whole "seven elements were evicted from the periodic table last week" shenanigans

Re: English breakfast plus QUIZ

Went along for my first Breakfast Buffet in about 3 years or so - still just as good as it was back then!

Sorry we didn't stick around for the quiz but we already had plans in Zürich... thanks for a top brunch and hope to see you at the next one

Oooh, you should have just shouted " any ef'ers here " I noticed a couple that came in, had breakfast and went, and a few lonely souls going by.
You didn't notice the funny looking bunch on your right hand side when you came in?
We had a few more newbies this time, one of them texted me before she came in so picked them up at the door.

Hope to see you at the next event, the other team could have used you at the pub quiz since they lost and all that

"funny looking bunch" - hard to tell which ones you mean
Yes, if I hadn't made it a last minute decision I'd have got a number, will know for next time. And I am usually good at quizzes - can't remember anything useful most of the time, but often amazed by the random stuff I can recall for pub quiz questions.

Must try harder - next time
