To borrow from Mathnut | Quote: | | | | | There is a possibility of having toasted bagels with cheddar as a lunch option, I am also open to the idea of taking orders for bagels to take home. I will bring these from the Viadukt market on Saturday morning frozen in a cold box, they will be perfect for a Sunday morning hangover cure. I'll post an update and prices later in the week. | | | | | I'll take a bag for home. Any flavor. Just need a toaster. And cream cheese. Or maybe make some super awesome tuna melts. Not with cinnamon raisin, though.

I will be bringing bagels for sure now, to serve as part of the lunch but also for you to take home. Here's what I have this week
Plain 2.10 each
Wholemeal 2.30 each
Onion, Sesame, Poppy and Raisin & Cinnamon all for 2.50 each
Note that I will be bringing these on Saturday morning frozen in a cold box so they will be fine for toasting on Sunday morning but they shouldn't be re-frozen. Please just list what you would like on this thread, I have a habit of missing and losing PM's .
(and if you can't make it to Rapperswil or the Viadukt we are planning on starting a "Bagels by Post" service very soon!)

Sounds good! Is it adults only or are children welcome too?

One once stuck their half chewed cheese in my mouth. Little sweetie. |

The venue is very kiddy friendly. The brewery is in a small industrial estate behind the new modern art gallery and on Saturdays the car park is almost empty so plenty of space for them to run around.

| | | | | Yup. It seems we nearly always get a shower at least..... but some of the tables are in the bar, a couple more are undercover outside and the others... well, my customers are a hardy lot and it takes more than a bit of rain to stop them enjoying beer and cheese.

Rain is not a problem.

Do try not to show up too much before 13.00 though... that is, unless you want us to put you to work! | This user would like to thank JLF for this useful post:

One new menu option for tomorrow will be my new Bagel Ploughmans Lunch... a toasted sesame bagel with 2 different cheeses (we will probably grill these slightly too) served with salad, chutney and dried fruit etc
And I will have a little guest with me tomorrow and I'd like to ask for some volunteers to take turns in looking after her while I work. Little Teckla is due to go home to Iceland at the end of the month so this may be the last time she will be able to say goodbye to all her EF friends. | The following 6 users would like to thank grumpygrapefruit for this useful post:

Seems to me that the Zurich crowd and the lovely food are certainly worth the trip.....
Please, would anybody know where you're supposed to change trains.... in Zurich HB or is there a closer place/connection ?
(I have no sense of direction)

Toasted cheddar cheese bagel!!! YES. Count me in...well, I will already be there, but still, count me in on the bagel news.

(I have no sense of direction) | | | | | I think Zurich HB will be best: there are lots of trains to Rapperswil from there.
Why don't you check on the SBB website?
Sky is coming!!! |

(I have no sense of direction) | | | | | Yes Sky, Zurich HB is where you should change trains. Take the IC train from Lausanne (leaving :20 past the hour every hour), and then when you get to Zurich, follow the signs to track 23/24 and catch S5, S7, or S15. SBB site says that your best connection is the S15, with 12 minutes to change (which is more than sufficient). Then when you get off the train in Rapperswil, find the Bahnhofplatz, walk along that main road through town in the same direction the train was going, following the signs to St. Gallen... After you cross the water (there will be a cute little park on your left), at the next main intersection you come to (street name is Schoenbodenstrasse), you would take a right and an immediate left (into a parking lot between two large older buildings--you might recognize it when you do). If you keep walking straight, you will run into the brewery.
Also, I will pm you my number right now. If you get "lost", you can call and I can give you more details and/or come pick you up from the station.

It was raining in ZH this morning but it's dry here in Rappi with even a little blue sky. Teckla can feel the excitement in the air!
