Re: Fête du vin
Hi Kamarate, are you in the Fanfare or the Guggenmusik band? I will try and come by, which time would be best to share a glass with you?

Re: Fête du vin
Ittigen - I'm in the fanfare (as I say, normally I play the French horn so this is something a little different!).
Wolli - That is indeed a tenor horn. To be honest, I'm not much of a fan, but it's much easier to march with (the French horn is made up of a whopping 4 metres of tubing, so it's pretty heavy).
The fanfare is meeting at 2:30, so I guess playing around 3. We're only playing 3 pieces as far as I'm aware, and I'll be staying there all night on Saturday, so any time mid-late afternoon or evening I should be free.

Re: Fête du vin
I wish I could see you! Sounds like a splendid event, wine and horns. Bummer I am not around.
Do you guys have an outfit?

Yes, and it's super-sexy.
Edit: OK, that photo was massive, so
here is a link.

Re: Fête du vin
Oh, and I should probably clarify I'm in the Fanfare de Cressier, playing as part of the cortège at 3pm on Saturday.

I'm not in that photo, it's from 2006 and I only moved 7 months ago. But yes, those are indeed the extremely sexy uniforms.

Actually, they look way sexier than some of the choir ugliness I had to wear
If we make it back from hols, we shall not miss this event!

I reckon we'll be down there at some point in the afternoon. If we cycle I'll be the one out of breath with the big red face.

Re: Fête du vin
Yes, it's very flattering. I especially like the way the trousers are too big at the top and taper in towards the bottom, making my legs look about a milllion times fatter than they actually are.
Looking forward to seeing your clan there!

Re: Fête du vin
I should of course have said that, if you plan on coming and want to meet for a drink, you should send me a PM to get my number. Hope to see some of you there tomorrow! I'm leaving around lunchtime, so a PM any time before then should be ok.

Re: Fête du vin
Ok, so none of you came, and you missed out! It was great, really, really enjoyable. Try and make it to the next one.

Re: Fête du vin
I am glad you had a good time, wine festivals can be real fun!
Yes I am sorry to let you down, I sent you an SMS at 8pm.
I was invited to the Dutch club's celebration, and the 1,5 hour train journey to Cressier was not very attractive!
The problem with wine and beer festivals is that you cannot drink and drive!
Please keep posting, and I will keep on looking for a teatotal driver!
I have organised 2 things on EF and nobody came, so I do know the feeling!

Yeah same here, would have happily come in the car, but I was in a mood to have a few drinks.. The train times were rather poor for returning too, either 8 pm (yeah right) or the early hours of the morning!
