Saturday August 13th, the Rappi Bier Factory are coming to the Markthalle im Viadukt to help me promote their beer (which I already sell there). There will be free tasters of 3 or 4 of their beers and you will be able to talk to some of the team who consistently brew the best beer in Switzerland and, with their Blackbier, the best black beer in Europe.

We will also be offering a free cheese tasting, the idea is to explain to our Swiss customers how cheese is often served with beer in the UK so we will be pairing the beers with what we think are suitable cheeses but also asking the customers what they think are the best pairings.

We also hope this day will finally persuade the market bar that they really should be serving Rappi Gold at least at the bar.

That's the serious bit...... but we also plan to have a bit of fun....

So, the beer will also be available to buy by the glass if you decide it is good enough to turn your day into a beer day (trust me, it is) and you will be able to buy bottles to take home.

I will also be preparing mini Ploughmans Lunches.... plastic lunch trays filled with salad, pickle/chutney, cheese and bread. You won't be able to sit at the restaurant to eat these so we will make them in such a way that they can be eaten standing up with just a fork at our temporary bar, or if the weather is friendly, you can head outside and eat them at one of the pavement benches. Price will be around 10.00 CHF per plate, not sure what cheese we will be offering but there will be a choice of a cheddar and a Stilton at least.

You can get to the market by trams 4 and 13 which stop outside at Dammweg or by train to Hardbrücke and a short walk. See you there!
