| | Re: Zurich Street Parade 2011 | Quote: | | | | | there is only ONE advice: DANCE!!!!!
i grew up with loveparade in berlin that makes streetparade looking like a grannies chill out! never i saw somebody friggin dance round here at streetparade?! walking around in stupid dresses (what for? its about music, stupid!), drinking and eating...darn, dance, dance dance! | | | | | This is exactly my philosophy for every StreetParade I've attended to date. It's all about the music and the dancing. Standing around gawking at people in costumes doesn't do it at all for me but then each to their own... Thankfully, there are always lots of people of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds to be seen just dancing and having fun together for that time. This is what I love about StreetParade.

Should we wait until it's been confirmed a drugs related death? Even a bad-drugs related death?

In 20min this morning it was reported that he may have been suffering from serious long term medical problems. Just because he was a DJ does not automatically mean he was a drug user, even though it's perceived as part of the "scene". In any event the cause will at some stage be forthcoming.

| | Re: Zurich Street Parade 2011 - Shocked to see | Quote: | | | | | I was shocked to see, in a Clean city like Zurich, people were peeing "Littering" openly on Roads and walls of the the street. mostly on the shopping centers and Stadt office near bruilkiplatz.... Hufff
Every were flowing urine and broken bottels of beer. It was stinking like hell.
I guess the WC's arranged were not enough. I wish the organizer arrange WC's every 100 mts to the public cab use then and stop littering on the roads.
This morning when i was heading to my office for a issue. Beleive me the roads and the trams were just stinking.
I think the City needs a heavy rain to wash of all the dirt....
Street parade was colorful, but still made the city so dirty.... | | | | | And the saddest part was people peeing and littering in the lake, that is the thing I hate most |

Had an awesome time at the parade. Sorry for not catching up with EF crew but it was impossible to know where and when we were going on saturday. I was being pulled around by some crazy germans. After drinking fairly heavily we ended up leaving quite early, so next time I'll have to pace myself (or at least chill the beers)
Was great to see so many young (and old) people out there having fun. There was a really great vibe on the streets and everyone seemed to be fairly considerate.
Awesome weather for the day as well!

Just in so thanks to i-b-deborah for encouraging me - it didn't take much - to head down to the Lethargy party at the Rote Fabrik; what a lovely atmosphere and congrats to the RF team for creating a special night. The wedding chapel provided a lovely chill out zone with fabulous views on the lake and loved-up people talking to each other made for a great weekender.

Although this is true, I think they do an amazing job considering the circumstances. I'm not sure many other cities can throw a party with open alcohol for 3X the population of the city and not deal with some garbage issues. That being said, they are pretty fast on the clean up. Overall I think they do a great job considering the logistics of such a large event. Sure it will take a couple days to get back to normal, but the initial cleaning effort is fairly impressive.

I had a great time Saturday. Love the atmosphere but only managed about eight hours.
I took a few pictures. However some are NSFW so perhaps don't view them if you are at all sensitive. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bananah...7627312277365/ |

12000 at hallenstadion is not 12000 on the streets=no parade. and such events for me are way too commercial. i saw a report on spiegel tv about steetparade....again you could see nobody dancing as 90% are bystanders... stupid!

So we have some people complaining that people at the Street Parade weren't dancing, others complaining that people were wearing - the horror! - AC/DC t-shirts...
I thought the whole point of the Street Parade was that people could enjoy themselves as they saw fit?
That was certainly the spirit of '89 as I remember it. |

That was certainly the spirit of '89 as I remember it. | | | | | The one driving message is that it is a love parade, judging by some of the posts, some people had a hard time showing it. Some things still shocked me, lightly, after all my years, but smile move on and look at a million other things that could make you smile. Focusing on some of the issues mentioned here is like listening to two old ladies complaining about a male stripper whilst they try and find their glasses.
