City/Town: Morges & Geneva
Event Type: Special Promotion
Location: Morges lakeside & Palexpo
Price: Free entry.

This is actually 2 or 3 events in one......

First, I will be in Morges on Saturday October 1st for the British Classic Car Show, they are expecting over 1500 cars to be on display along the lake, last time I came they put me by the marina next to the main entrance of the event and I'm hoping I will be there again. I'll be bringing lots of cheese and British Ales (I'll probably be making up small cheese tasting plates too to enjoy with the beer too).

Then on Sunday I'll be at the Palexpo next to Geneva airport for the Expat-Expo from 11.00 - 17.00 to sell the remaining beer and cheese.... don't worry, I will bring plenty. At the Expo there will be lots of other companies exhibiting of course and there will even be a bouncy castle for the little ones.

But... Saturday evening I will be staying at the Ibis hotel at Geneva airport and if anyone fancies a beer or 3 it'd be nice for me to get an evening off. It's your town so feel free to make any suggestions... as long as I can get back to the hotel to get a reasonable amount of sleep!

Please indicate which event/s from the weekend you will likely to be at and at what time. Maybe we can arrange an EF meet at 2pm on each of the 2 days for those of you would like to make new friends. Both commercial events are free entry BTW.

Looking forward to meeting some more of you!

So are any of the RSVPs for Saturday evening in Geneva? Because if I'm the only one (gata can only doFriday), we might as well maintain our Friday EF event, and see grumpygrapefruit on Sunday at the Expo.
Im working on Sunday at 4pm so if you organize something for Sunday before that i will come. Especially for some smoked cheese (hint hint)

Ok so i will leave that event up and if it happens it happens. If nobody shows up no worries I will try and be off on Saturday but its a bit tough

We need to find some middle ground with this event: http://www.englishforum.ch/social-ev...es-drinks.html
I was planing for the Saturday night, could do the Friday but not both.

I also see ADH is up for Saturday evening. OK, grumpy may have plenty of people to share a beer with after all. Let's see how the situation progresses later in the week. Gata, I'd start badgering your boss about maybe switching work days.

We are getting the train into Morges as I think parking will be a nightmare.

- Is the Classic car show far from the railway station? Am not familiar with Morges..

Will be a Grumpy's stall at 2pm - Great to be able to put faces to names...

The cars are displayed all along the lake side, I should be near the main entrance by the Marina. Morges is pretty small so everything is pretty close

No it's not too far; Morges is not too big anyway, and it's flat, not like Lausanne

There usually is a lot of parking spaces next to the lake (next to the park where they do the tulip festival), but I don't know where they are putting the old cars exactly?!

Edit: grumpygrapefruit beat me to it

It is just a few minutes walk from the station across the town. The Arsenal is signposted. The entrance is there. If you click on the map in the link in the event details you can zoom right in. There are five maps to zoom through.

My boyfriend has been ill and off work all week (poor little bugger really isn't feeling well). He's just gone to the doctor and really hopes he's feeling better by the weekend as he was keen on going to the car event. If he's still ill, I'll probably still come anyway.

He won't complain. He may be French, but he's not that French. I'm hoping he'll be feeling better by then anyway. Well, we'll see when I get home from work tonight.

Perhaps he caught a cold from exposing himself too much at the Fetes des Vendanges.

Hope he's feeling better soon and if he isn't it'll be nice to catch up with you anyway.

If he's French, he's just pretending to be sick. He's actually just very worried about having to admit that Brits can make very good cheese.

Just tell him that it's not a competition and that I might even be able to teach him a thing or too about fromage. And if he really is sick, a toasted Cheddar bagel and a bottle of ale will cure anything.

Damn, wrong weekend to be in Madrid I guess. Need my fix of Grumpy cheese. Got me hooked at Highland Games and now it's all I think about. Grumpy, you really need to warn people of the addictive qualities of your delicious imports.

Normally I would agree, but alas this is not the case. However, he's still really keen on coming (I offered him cars, cheese and beer... I don't really see how he could have refused).
