City/Town: Morges & Geneva
Event Type: Special Promotion
Location: Morges lakeside & Palexpo
Price: Free entry.

This is actually 2 or 3 events in one......

First, I will be in Morges on Saturday October 1st for the British Classic Car Show, they are expecting over 1500 cars to be on display along the lake, last time I came they put me by the marina next to the main entrance of the event and I'm hoping I will be there again. I'll be bringing lots of cheese and British Ales (I'll probably be making up small cheese tasting plates too to enjoy with the beer too).

Then on Sunday I'll be at the Palexpo next to Geneva airport for the Expat-Expo from 11.00 - 17.00 to sell the remaining beer and cheese.... don't worry, I will bring plenty. At the Expo there will be lots of other companies exhibiting of course and there will even be a bouncy castle for the little ones.

But... Saturday evening I will be staying at the Ibis hotel at Geneva airport and if anyone fancies a beer or 3 it'd be nice for me to get an evening off. It's your town so feel free to make any suggestions... as long as I can get back to the hotel to get a reasonable amount of sleep!

Please indicate which event/s from the weekend you will likely to be at and at what time. Maybe we can arrange an EF meet at 2pm on each of the 2 days for those of you would like to make new friends. Both commercial events are free entry BTW.

Looking forward to meeting some more of you!

Re: Lac Lemaners. I'm coming down with lots of cheese and will fancy a beer!

Thanks Grumpygrapefruit, We're eyeing off the pot of stilton and mentally preparing a postal order! Next time I'm bringing my own (gluten free) bread! Smelling Zymogens bagel was torture

A couple of the Stitch 'n' Bitch ladies said they made their way to your stall and some have friends who are interested but couldn't come today. I'll keep an eye on your events and let all know (via the newsletter) when you're returning so they can arrange to visit you

It was lovely to put some faces to names here. Sorry we didn't stick around for so long, husband is a car nut and keeping him sitting there was akin to letting a kid into a candy shop and not letting them have any!

Oy. Folk will talk.
Sorry, "think before you post", I know. It did occur to me later today that some people might take that completely the wrong way. It was 3.30 am and I was surprised to see someone else awake and on EF at that time. Nothing more to it.

I did so enjoy meeting everyone this afternoon but hadn't expected you all to be QUITE SO YOUNG
Grumpy certainly has the best cheese I've ever tasted, and he looks pretty good too.
Well Ceppych, you were certainly way less old than what I was expecting from your posts!

I really enjoyed meeting all of you! It's so funny, not to say downright hilarious, how some of you differed from the mental image I had in my mind!

Bur I arrived too late and missed all the cheese and bagels...

Great day. Must say we were glad to see the sun eventually. When we left the Jura it was glorious sunshine and just above Yverdon it was foggy.
Much fun putting faces to avatars- each an unexpected surprise
And fabulous cheese of course.

Halfway home after a lovely adventure in the west. Really nice to meet you all- including some very quiet - and not so quiet- posters! It was definitely worth the trip. Looking forward to the next one...

Ah, it was a late nite for the little one but worth it! Met some old faces and some new ones, kiddo had a blast with another EF princess, that rabbit definitely needs a wash..Sorry I wasn't exactly mingling, busy sampling and keeping away cheese from the little teeth, Mike was great as ever, the flags are hanging all over the kid's bedroom, see ya'll tomorrow.

Aw, that was fun. Nice to meet (or re-meet) so many lovely people. Definitely worth the 3.5 hour train ride.

And I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to DB for doubting him. Apparently there is such a thing as a half-timbered station wagon, and he wasn't making it all up out of his own head at all.*

*For once.

Re: Lac Lemaners. I'm coming down with lots of cheese and will fancy a beer!

We had a lovely day and I'm just sorry we didn't make it back down to that end to meet more of you but there were just too many cars for my boys to inspect down at the chateau and my young one managed to swing himself a ride in a lovely old MG and we ran out of time. OH had arranged dinner with friends for my birthday so we had to get the train back.

Sorry I didn't introduce myself when we stopped by Grumpy but I thought we'd be back later. Hopefully at an event in the near future,

Re: Lac Lemaners. I'm coming down with lots of cheese and will fancy a beer!

Dear Mathsnut; as long as DG didn't try to persuade you that the half-timbered cars come thatched as well.
It was nice to have met you both; I'd always imagined Dougal's Breakfast as a disillusioned, bitter bloke in his 60's, so it was really good to realise that he's not!

@Grumpygrapefruit, saving my piece of smoked cheese to share with #1 son, then will organise an order for the winter solistice.

Shame my son wasn't there to introduce his lion to this bunny! Those two need to meet (the kids and the doudou!)

Re: Lac Lemaners. I'm coming down with lots of cheese and will fancy a beer!

An open letter to GrumpyGrapefruit

Dear Mr. Grapefruit,

First of all .. thank you so much for your delicious cheese and beer that Mrs. G and I purchased at your lovely little emporium lakeside, and which formed the basis for a loverly plowmans lunch yesterday.

Secondly, I am rather curious that upon seeing Mrs.G round the corner of said emporium you let out an exuberant “ I know you ! ” despite only having ( allegedly ) met Mrs.G once before for mere minutes at the previous years Expat-Expo.

I want you to be aware that I will be keeping an eye on our ‘fridge from now on and if any unexplained Yarg shows up you’ll be hearing from my lawyers. ( )

Cordially,

Grynch, ESQ.

( seriously… good cheese )

Thanks again, GG. I hope you had an extremely lucrative weekend - you deserve it! You must be exhausted now. Was great to have met you. If I stay in Zurich with friends, I'll be sure to stop by the Viadukt market.
